Welp. Another slow night. Luckily I live close and have a paid for truck or I’d never do this crap.

It didn’t. 3-4 loads per night makes the pay good.

Does not sound like a good gig if you are not getting the work every night.

That’s why you have to be flexible. Take an extra load on the good days to make up for the bad. Plus I go home everyday.

Anyone that brags about making money hauling sand never lets on what’s involved. The glory days of sand hauling have been gone for awhile.

Yeah I would bet when I was in the oilfield it was booming. Not so much since then I would guess. I would guess Tx is a better set up for that at the moment.

Well.......back when we hauled oil in the sand field it wasn't about making money. It was about old arn.

    Money was just a bonus.

I thought about it the other day. I am never more than 40 miles from the house. Currently only 7.5 miles from home. The only manual labor is opening and closing lids on box. I fuel up at most twice a week. I have to put in almost no effort to do this.

A good 7 days pays handsomely. All other times it’s still usually better than freight, but not always. Lol

Texas is over-trucked worse than up my way. It’s not the drivers fault’s. It’s the energy companies and the trucking companies. They just keep hiring and instead of having a small group where everyone prospers, we all fight for the same loads. One hiccup on pad and the day is ruined. Wasn’t like that before. But it is what it is.

I was a manager at Halliburton. My old boss moved into the logistics department. I want to pick his brain and see where to place most of the blame. I can’t change anything, just curious.
