    You've been traumatized from the ordeal. It's understandable being your first kill. Deep breath, #pet the cat. What are the chances it could happen again. At least it wasn't a Skunk....

    Sad, I gave a neighbor who was moving away from where we lived then, an nice intelligent German shepherd. Had our 3rd little girl about 6 month old and the dog took to "studying" her when near. Wife was concerned. With reflection, dog might have just been categorizing how she could protect.

    That's right. We had a shepherd as a little boy. We'd lay down on the sidewalk and the dog would drag us off the walk way onto the yard. Good family dog.
