What if it Snows?

Today my hip popped back into place as did the vertebrae in my neck. So much better.

 

Well I went to Indy drove in a snow storm the whole way. I get an hour and away from home. Engine has rpms pecking. Then it just starts idling high. Like 4k. I have it in gear at a stop light I can't I'm standing on the brakes. I start to smell burning smell. Pull over let it sit for 20 minutes. Then get a hotel room. I cleaned the throttle body with gum out. The rev it drops to 2k now and then down to idle.

What is the part that adjusts the idle on the car? There is a second cable off the throttle body. That goes to a box and I'm wondering if its going bad. What's the name for the box? Or the throttle body is going bad with weak springs.
