I am surprised that still occurs. Empty out in IN/KY, check call in. (LD,Collect, person to person for yourself, get told not there, would be tomorrow - Meant come on home.) Reach the Peco fuel stop in Nashville, and be told Jimmie had called and next truck coming south turn back to Bowling Green and pick up.
With Riddell; empty in Gastonia, get to Lillie's at Tallapoosa, and be told come on to Bessemer and pick up a load of basic slag on to Canton.
Real fun was to check call in, operator be told you were out on the golf course, and would prolly be there in 2 hours. Meant set for 2 hours and call back.
But, it made for loaded miles to the truck and me getting nickels. With cell phones and tracking, driver can be re dispatched enroute right now. Progress.

Normally I say it’s too late. But when she said it’s 97,000 and just give her a rate. Of course it’s in downtown Pensacola going to downtown Atlanta.

Don't bet on it. We are predicted 1 hour of snow in Tupelo in the morning, 7 to 8. No accumulation
Daughters in Lex and Versailles, KY are set for 8 hours Wed morning and 7 hours Wed night.
With the erratic sweeps and amounts, you could get dumped om. (You are somewhere N of 40 and E of 65?)

Well Hell; with that weight and the PU/Del locatations plus even you, (tired/befuddled with shop build and prolly tax time concerns) could conjure up a "reasonable" rate. And you are in the "area"... Not like you had to make a bunch of calls and wait for decision and do a lot of planning.
Hope you did not be so gracious as to give them a "backhaul" rate....

Buck a mile will make you smile!
It’s worth turning around and waiting until morning.

We're basking in the warmth out here in flyover country. Finally stopped snowing about 4:30, started about 2:00AM I believe, but it was just tiny flakes that didn't amount to much and I'm not complaining.
