In my experience that’s just batteries being batteries, especially if they’re a few years old.

One thing that I have had happen is a bad diode in the alternator. It will still charge when running but will constantly drain when shut off. This is probably not the case, but with a cold engine (not running) you might put your hand on the alternator to feel if it is warmer than ambient temperature. If it is then you might need an alternator. Should be able to check with a muli-meter when shut off as well.

ETA: Redneck multi-meter - disconnect hot lead from alternator and look for any sparking when reconnecting.

How old is it, and what was the Hi and Lo temps there yesterday?
Cause, when a battery nears the end of it projected life, the first HOT or Cold day finishes it.
Even to the extent you crank up and drive up town; park, run inside and return M F'er won't say a woud....
Best example of "sudden unexplained death" you will ever see.....

First it was the disappearing brake fluid, now the battery.... This thing is going to $ you to death, and in only 2 to 3 years?
Should have got the extended warranty.:rolleyes:
    Adjusted..
They gave you the brake fluid, so not out all that much, Still the battery expense.

@Opus Just to make sure...... Have you checked to make sure nothing left plugged into a cigar lighter and the brake lights aren't glowing with nobody inside?

Old Fords where known to have bad brake light switches that would drain the battery overnight. Could only just barely notice a faint glow once you got parked in a dark dark spot like a closed up shop at night with no lights on.

Also how clean is the battery? Got a used car relatively cheap from a dealer cause the battery was slowly shorting through the dirt and yuk on top of the battery. The "mechanics" couldn't find the problem.

I've quit using my big cast iron skillet since I rarely cook a steak anymore. That was all I used it for. Maybe I'll get it back out and use it for other stuff. Thing is heavy. Now I got remember where I put it
