    Yes you can own your own trailer. Yields a higher percentage of the freight, If I remember about 6%.

    Trade off is it takes you out of the drop and hook freight. Advantage being you don't have to deal with the crap trailers in the pool.

    It is just another business decision. For me, at that time, the drop and hook freight did not pay very well on the lanes I ran. I chose to get a lower cost used trailer that I could customize to carry Load bars and load locks. Never got around to putting boxes under it for straps or blankets. Revenue from the trailer reimbursed me purchase price in about 6 months.

    It's 8%. 65 to 73% i have been looking at flats. This basically takes me out of the money loop for 4 or 5 days. So do I wait in Georgia or deadhead back to Michiana.... wait at home for 4 days instead of here.
