It’s Friday. It’s every working man’s right to blow off a little steam on Friday. :yes2557:

I hit an old lady yesterday. Not a suicide, just a case of an 80 year old woman who didn't understand the sign that says "left turn yield on green"

I was living the high life in a brand new company owned F350 that was given to me that morning. She turned through the intersection as I was entering it. No way to avoid the collision, and it's on camera, but the first thing I did was jump out and go check on her. Poor woman didn't even know she got into an accident.

Before the sheriffs showed up she walked off and went to pay her water bill at the local city hall that we were in front of when the accident happened.

I tried to get her to rest inside of my truck with air conditioning while we waited for the ambulance, but she insisted that she didn't know me. Thankfully she was ok, but even though I wasn't at fault I would've felt horrible if anything happened to her.

My truck had 580 miles on it.

@Dave_in_AZ Nope, Don't do that. On the darkest day in my life, I have never considered such. 4 bypasses, 1 stroke, 1 stent. and my right leg refusing to work (nerve) for over 2 months. Had an echo cardiogram and carotid arteries ultra sound this afternoon. Have a protrusion on my aorta.
I have enough to not wake up in the morning. Why dabble, don't bother me.

That is why I decided 1st quarter of 2024 to sell my pick up and give up driving. I was still managing fine and it was convenient. But what you just described, maybe thru no fault of mine, but the old 89 year old man would be suspect. And, I might not dodge quick enough when earlier I could have avoided. I kind of pride myself on thinking I know my limitations.

No, and historically there have been cases where one "gave their stuff" to another and circumstances were apparently set in motion.
It is known as "Tempting Fate".

Dad will be 87 in September and we just had to take his license— probably the hardest call that I’ve ever had to make in my life up to and including pulling the plug on my 5 day old son— sounds harsh, but I pray every night that the Ol man takes him quick, but it doesn’t appear that’s in the cards

My nearest neighbor is a bad ### named Cotton. He's 83 years old this year and still getting around fine. A year or so ago I caught him on his roof adjusting the direct tv satellite. But he gave his vehicle away to his son a couple of months ago. I asked him why, and his answer was because he's never been in an accident in his entire life and didn't want to start now.

I applaud you sir. I know it's a hard decision.
