Barge cranes, and a lot of high dollar labour hours.

My adult son asked me once why there's not more nuclear power.

I told him that back in the 70s, all you had to say to shut down someone who wanted to discuss nuclear power was "Three Mile Island".

My son, and several of his friends who are credentialed in various engineering disciplines, find this absurd.

    And they are correct-a-mundo.

The OM has always been a proponent of the atom. Should have never stopped building them. The middle east could suck it then.

The big accidents, Chernobyl and Fukajima, were design flaws, compounded by human error at Chernobyl.

There's some good videos on what led to THE B00M at both places. And there's one physicist DUDE that has a channel that explains the design flaws really well.

Nothing compares to just cracking them fuel rods a little LOL.

There is no million volt power lines. The closet is 750K volts, and the nukes are the only ones that can generate that.

With chernobyl weren't there warnings that were ignored? I thought there were but don't have the time to research, I'll look later.

Yes. The assist engineer in charge basically d00med it. But those reactors are designed not as safe as like a Westinghouse. It's pretty interesting and not difficult to understand.

There's this physicist DUDE on UTube called Illinois EnergyProf. He explains the nuts and bolts. And why what happened there, is impossible with a Westinghouse design.
