My cascadia was the same way . had to bang on the pins to get them unstuck and never could get it to slide. Even on the brand new kenworth i was in, i just put it all the way back so i dont have to mess with it cuz i never understood wat it does lol

Thanks rocks i will give it a shot in the morning and see wat happensLtlAnonymous, WesternPlains and Rocks Thank this.

i was told to lower landing gear to relieve pressure on the fifth wheel making it considerably easier to slide and of course be sure to raise landing gear after adjustment is complete

I think no one ever messed with it before I got it, and it just stayed in that spot. I've tried spraying it real good with liquid wrench multiple times, but I'm not gonna tear up my drives trying to move it. It should slide real easy.LtlAnonymous, WesternPlains, x1Heavy and 2 others Thank this.

LOL yup cuz u know its gonna break loose when ur really pushing on it hard and u end up in the front of the trailer with the freight ,i head some stories about guys doing that beforeRidgeRunner731, LtlAnonymous, WesternPlains and 2 others Thank this.

Its going to be either 250 or 500.
I have a little bit of a roguish attitude that I don't pay attention to the steers. so what if they are 12, 13 or whatever somewhere in there.
Its the weight off the drives you want. Fuel is what 7 pounds a gallon? 8? little details escape me. So I slosh a little in there keeping a eye on how far the scales are and what to burn before I hit it.
Now. Some tractors have fuel tanks forward. Other tractors have them near the drives soo what say yours?RidgeRunner731, LtlAnonymous, WesternPlains and 3 others Thank this. -
If you ever want to try to release it, tap on the pins and tap gently on the piston, don't hammer it but tap gently and push that rod in... that might help.LtlAnonymous, WesternPlains and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

That is one thing i havemt figured out yet on this truck is where it puts the fuel weight. I believe it put it on drivesLtlAnonymous, WesternPlains, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this.

And I am not sure.. maybe you know Mr. @D.Tibbitt ... you gotta lower your landing gear to the ground till it touches it and lower your air bags before you start moving the tractor... I don't know how it's done in an automatic truck cause I never drove one... it maybe be the same though...
LtlAnonymous, WesternPlains and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
The Freightliners I drove.. fuel wouldn't make too much of a difference on the steers.. mostly on the drives as the tanks were near just in front of them...LtlAnonymous, WesternPlains and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
