Told the wife I would like it if she came home with some sour cream and onion potatoe chips.

She asked if I had eaten the other bag yet.

I went and looked. Sure enough there was a bag there that I had forgotten about. I swear I looked last night and the cupboard was empty.

    Sigh

So apparently on duty time does not count against the 8 clock. Did my pre trip this morning 15 mins as usual. Was expecting to see 7 hr 45 mins left on my 8 but it was still 8 hrs. Interesting.

Correct... Only drive time counts towards the 8. A 30 min break of On Duty/Off Duty/Sleeper is required before accumulating more than 8 hours of driving. This 30 min break can be any one OR combination of those duty statuses.

8 hours before a 30 min is required.

Oh yeah. I thought maybe he’s logging 8.75 per day or less, so he never runs out.

Ford Truck plant is cranking them out today. Saw a new Chevy p/u. The grill looks pretty mean. Real intimidating. Should sell well. I can see one already tailgating me in the snow with his brights on.

    Exactly.
So, you can wait in line 10 minutes for fuel off duty, fuel for 10 minutes on duty, slide up to the yellow line and go take a poop for 10 minutes, come back out and your break is satisfied.
Plus, since the 8 hours only applies to driving time, its unlikely that you'll have to do another one.
I hated taking 2 in one day
