20 minutes in the tow industry means about 3 hours

Too frigging much. People are still desperate and buying all the old junk and fixing it enough to be (marginally) DOT legal.

Fuel was $3.09 last week. Up .10 in one week. This week still 3.09. Wish I had extra tanks. Has to be the cheapest fuel in the country. This loads 45k, puts Me around 80,600. After last weeks fiasco, I’m going to weigh this one. Trucks riding funny, front ends creaking and popping. Think it’s time to replace everything in the whole front end

I am just seeing whats out there. The flatbed rates are making a turn for the worst. Running into a lot of cancelled loads. That just means someone is undercutting us and the agents i work with is mostly all direct freight. That is just bad news all around. Im not really wanting to stick around to find out whats gonna happen

Towed for a water hose????!!!! Thats insane!!!! 2 winters ago I blew a heater hose just as I crested Sherman Summit on I-80 in WY at about 2200. It was dark, freezing cold, and there was a massive storm just a few hours behind me.

I called a service truck to bring 10 gallons of coolant. By time he got there I had bypassed the leak by looping the good hose back to the engine. Refilled the coolant and boogied down the road. Sure I didnt have a heater for 2 days until I could find a place that had heater hose I could buy, but I was only on the side of the road for 2 hours... And I was able to stay ahead of the storm. Good thing too, that storm shut down all of WY for 4 days.

To this day I carry a 3 foot piece of heater hose under the bunk.

Once you’ve been in a jam like that, it doesn’t see extreme. I keep my old antifreeze in the side box. I’ve got 8 gallons. Holds 10, but 8s enough. If it isn’t for some reason, I’ve got some drinking water in the Truck. Same with old hoses and quick repair couplers and extra clamps. Couple yrs ago, I had a bottom radiator SS top of the line hose clamp snap the band for no reason. Happened to be on the fuel island. Got Lucky. Just a fluke. Never saw that before, probably never will. Beats paying a tie bill, and losing revenue.
