This guy is an awesome engineer and fabricator....

This is a HUGE vice he built. Just for an idra of how strong this vice is... It generates MORE force than my hydraulic log splitter. My log splitter uses a 4" bore hydraulic ram and with 2200 PSI hydraulic bypass, which generates about 27650 pounds of force. His vice generates about an additional 2400 pounds of force than my splitter!!!

Stout piece of plunder. Many applications. With some recesses; cup like in jaws, could crack 2 pecans at once. Be a little slow for production tho.
Joking aside... Is the acme threaded positioned/adjuster shaft/ piece as strong relatively as the other portions? No info on the jack, 20 ton or 50?
With enough oomph from the jack, and ANY angle deviation of this would buckle it. @cattlemen84 thoughts?

That is great. Be alert during the coming holidays that too many goodies are not ingested. I mean you, not the OM ...

Its a 30 ton jack. I watched all 4 of his videos on building it... The acme lead screw is free floating independant of the jack, and the jack is only capable of applying pressure AWAY from the acme lead screw... So no chance of it damaging the lead screw.

The rest of the vice is built heavy enough that enough deflection to even come close to buckling the body is impossible without additional outside forces of very significant magnitude.
