    Gmail hands down

A Google account provides way more “free” services/apps for businesses.

I have my own domain, and it makes a difference in how you come across to customers. Got an inquiry two days ago just off the website that may turn into a pretty sweet long term deal if I can make it happen. One or two of those a year, and I have way more business than I can handle.

No, it's not free, but it's part of your company MINIMUM identity package.

This is absolutely one hundred percent the answer that you are looking for.

You can have however many Gmail accounts that you want, it'll pop right up on your phone, and you can even use Google Voice for a separate phone number.

I like it because when I go onto my computer everything is synced up from my phone. My emails my searches whatever. I go right from my phone to my computer or from my computer to my phone seamlessly.

Gmail and Google is the absolute leader hands down.

Had same thing happen with another gmail account I used for non-business. It turned out that someone had been spoofing that email account and Google servers started treating that account as an actual spam account. Goto one of the Google community boards for gmail services and post the details about what is happening. It’s possible an administrator or someone with more answers can reverse what has happened to your account because the systems that mark accounts as spammers are often doing so by programmed response or AI if that makes any sense.

i checked with a search of google emails.. i cannot find my particular situation.

all i can find is people saying that THEIR emails they send out, get put into that persons spam folder.

i do have "some" companies that i directed to spam, but this is from companies or organizations that i communicate with on a regular basis, that get put into my spam folder

mail.com has like 200 different domains you can choose from.. of course the only one that came close to trucking was hot-shot.com with the dash... literally the only domain they had with a dash was the one I wanted.. and that's useless as a email address..

Buy your own domain. Looks way more professional than a hotmail/gmail/yahoo and doesn't track you or mine your emails for advertising info.

I use Gandi, they include two free email accounts for each domain, that includes a nice webmail interface you can use from any web browser and they have POP/IMAP so you can use a nice email client like K9 to work with them on your phone if you prefer that over the webmail.

Set one of the accounts up for biz and one for backchannel or personal.

    A dot-com is about 15 bucks a year there.

ADDED: Strongly advise against buying a dot us domain, you will get spammed and telemarketed, owned by US Chamber of Commerce so it's salesmen all the way down.

Also, having a domain means you can buy webhosting and put up a site with that domain, which looks even better, even if it's simple and just has contact info and a photo of your trucks. Most hosts offer unlimited free email accounts, forwarders, etc with web hosting. That's about 50-100 year for a decent one, lots of crappy ones for less.

If you buy your own domain hosting even a cheap account you can set up as many emails as you like. The only reason anyone would try to limit you on emails for your own domain is just to charge you more..

As for the argument of free or your own domain... 10 years ago sure.. but if you are just a 1 or 2 truck opperation no one cares. So many use gmail and just have Facebook page for their business.. that its sorta normal these days.

1 thing to keep in mind.. the moment you decide to not keep that domain or want to move hosting, you will lose all those emails

Meanwhile I have 10 years of emails on my gmail account that I can search through anytime from any device. All the contacts are there right on my phone aswell...

I understand your argument and I used to share it as years ago I ran large networks of affiliate sales websites.. but now days the socials have won the war with conveniance and accessibility.
