I see what you’re saying–and agree–about the different prestige levels, but to say I’m not an O/O at all is taking it too far, which is what this guy was saying to me and caused me to create this thread.
What do you care? What he said was irrelavent. As far as I am concerned there's nothing noble about being an owner operator in the large scope of things. To general population, a truck driver or an owner operator are hardly any different in terms of a social status. The difference is not so much in nobility but ways of convenience of how to make a living. For example, I don't know how easy it would become for me to go and work for someone else after 6 years of calling my own shots. I am afraid there could be some issues about my insubordination. The notion that someone could be my boss and telling me what to do would be very difficult to settle with.
