    Hi all,

Looking into other options in trucking. How is pulling a tanker different from reefer or dry van? What would I have to learn? Is the endorsement hard to get in GA?

    Thanks!

Never pulled a dry van or reefer after cdl school but I will say the tanker will hit up hard if you aren’t careful. Money seems to be better and hometime typically better. I’m in Ga tanker test was a breeze the hazmat was a little more difficult but still pretty easy.

In my experience tank drivers get better money and more respect from the shippers/receivers.

Its a hole different animal. I agree!! And what's important is that drivers demand more money.

Because tanker is much easier to unload. And no lumpers:D

What I want to know is… If I have reefer experience, do I have to go with the trainer to learn how to drive tankers? If so, what are the things my trainer will teach me?

What you mean no lumpers?? I gotta lump my hoses to off load, open close dome lids, where a chemical suit in 100 degree heat but yes I never touch the product or at least I try not to as I haul acids. Lol

Yes you will need to go with a trainer. The trainer will teach you how to drive all over again as nothing will prepare you for the butt kicking you will receive figuring out how to run tankers. Hauling a moving load is tricky.

I mean you don't have to sit 12 hours wait for dumbos to count 12 cases.
When I did tanker the only one hard thing I had. In summer time unload in full gear under sun. But it was less then 2 hours.
