What is in my AC line at the expansion valve? Updated.

You guys called it. Foreign object. I have a suspicion the last "mechanic?" that worked on it, used a squirt bottle to put oil in the system and didn't remove the cap first,....or something like that as the object looks just like a cap on a standard squirt bottle.
Now to find seal washers, install the new expansion valve and receiver/dryer, recharge and see if it works.
Another side note, this Coronado is a new to me truck. Sat for a few months on an auction lot.

 

Replaced the parts, pulled a vacuum, and passed the leak test. Charged it with 4.2lb refrigerant and it seems to blow cold now. I do need to get some warmer weather to get a better test, but so far, so good.

 

There has to be a restriction before each evaporator core. An expansion valve or orfice tube. The cool comes after the drop in pressure. Glad you are cool now and hope it stays that way.

 

Yep, which is why I was surprised parts only shows one expansion valve. But I think there is a device at the sleeper evap. Next time I get near the truck I will take the cover off and investigate further.
