driver A would drive the second leg of the load, arrive in morn for delivery. Then he would drive the bounce to the next shipper. (this would mostly be me) Driver a and b are now on duty while they load the next load. A goes to sleep and B drives 11 hours. When he is out of time, A takes over and gets the load to the cosign by morning. Parking isn't an issue because A could delay his start to arrive at cosign right as they open. A then is on duty for unload. Technically if A wanted help folding tarps, B would have to start his 14. But, this may not be such a big deal if 2 people are loading AND to to perfect time management, my truck is there in the am before it gets busy. Planned load length would determine when the next driver starts his clock. Either way your saving on average an hour on the loading, depending on load complexity. (when i trained this driver over a year ago, we got loaded and tarped in 20 min for a load that would take me 1.5 hours on my own)
Deadbeats by definition exhibit a lack of personal responsibility... or, if you prefer, a good credit rating is evidence of better personal responsibility.
You had a very BS answer. For every concern I have. I just feel like you're not looking at the big picture. Also. Do you choose your loads from some sort of load board tmc has or do you? What if you do a oversize JD load from Iowa to Washington?
Why do you say they are BS? TMC doesn't have a load board, but my FM calls me and gives me the best 3-5 options everyday. I do pick from those. I can also request certain shippers or certain length, or pretty much anything i could do on a board, but he will search, not me. I rarely haul OS and can turn down OS freight if i dont want it. But, why does that make a difference. I dont know what JD means, but most of the oversize we haul isnt to oversize and thus not time restricted. (of course i would need to check restrictons and perit by state to know for sure.)
I've hauled john deere b4. For the states and roads i used, there were no time restrictions and thus no difference for teaming or not. (TMC took care of permits for me) That being said, its rare i haul JD since we have a dedicated team that normally handles it.
I'm saying every comment you've had a trump to. I just think it's a silly idea. Why would you wanna share your money with someone else. The only my guy winning in this situation is your team driver
