They are ripping you off. Most company drivers make 24-25%. I even heard some making 30%, but never seen it.

If they want to hold out a surcharge, then have them document it on your paycheck. Then when you quit, file a complaint with the DOL and they will make them pay every penny back to you. They can't make an employee pay company expenses. Like king Q said, they are just pulling wool over your eyes to pay you lower than normal wages.

Personally, I wouldn't work for the con artist. CH Robinson loads suck too. Most companies use them to relocate a truck to a better area with a better paying load. That tells you something there.

I think that they use C.h.r. loads as well as other brokers, c.h.r being the main one. It depends on how much businees sense the owner has. Good friend once told me that if you call the broker and ask, how much does the load pay, they are going to tell you 1.00/mile. If you call them and ask, do you have any loads, and they say yeah, we have this load going from a to b, it is your job as that truck owner to tell that broker how much it will cost to run their freight in your truck at a profit. If they wont pay it, hang up the phone. Chances are they will call you back.

Well my outfit runs a lot of CHR freight out of Wisconsin and some back home... most of our outbound stuff pays $3.00 per mile and up... 21% of that ain't bad.

    I get 92% plus a FSC.....

I have a long history with CHR dating back to the 70's.... I used to hate them but I have been pleasantly surprised the last few years. We mostly haul for the Madison, WI, Chicago and Indy offices...
