WRONG! An attorney hired by an insurance company works for the driver NOT for insurance company.Seriously OP why not Google your question instead of asking truck drivers most of which don't have a clue?!

WRONG! Unless you hired the attorney, they don't work for you!

The carriers insurance. As in Deckers insurance companies attorney.

And might I add, look at all this confusion? Much like the confusion from the start of this thread when someone got tarred and feathered for asking for clarification.

But lets let sleeping dogs lie I guess.

OK let me put in another words so you can understand.
Attorney hired by insurance company although technically is working for said company is representing YOU because YOU are being sued not insurance company and that attorney is supposed to take best care of YOUR interest not interest of insurance company.

I understand perfectly. And no, the attorney is not representing you, they are representing the insurance company. Nothing "technically" about it. Period.

Do I really need to post a pic of a letter from my attorney hired by my carrier insurance?
    It says "Dear Mr.my name
This letter is to advise you that I have been retained by law firm name to represent YOU and defend YOUR interests ,along with the other named defendant .....
    Very truly yours
    Attorney name and signature"

Dirty Little Secrets Your Insurance Company Won’t Tell You About Your Lawyer
    by Randall K. Edwards

"...a few of the dirty little secrets that I learned from my years as an insurance defense lawyer..."

    The Problems
    1. Insurance defense lawyers often have divided loyalties.
    2. There often is no economic incentive for the insurance lawyer to aggressively pursue your defense the way you want him to.
    3. You often have less control than you think with regard to either the defense or the settlement of your case.
    Some recommendations
    1. Understand that your insurance company is not necessarily your friend.
    2. Understand exactly what rights and duties you and your insurer have.
    3. Consider hiring your own lawyer to protect your personal interests.
    4. Consider litigation against your own insurance company, if necessary.
    5. Remember that insurance is only one part of the overall asset protection equation.

Again, if you didn't hire the lawyer, they are not your lawyer and they may, or may not, be working to your best interests.

But that was my point. Even though he's named specifically, he's covered under Decker's insurance. Well, I'm assuming that, but I'm 99% sure he is. In other words, they're suing the insurance company.

I was hoping to get an update but OP hasn't been back since Wednesday. Couldn't imagine why that is...
