    #### I wish I would have found this a few days ago. I just returned my truck this morning (I told my company I would return it where they wanted me to) but I didn't get any pics and the mechanics just told me to leave it in the yard so I did. They also wanted me to drive 2 hours west to pick up a load and I told dispatch that I had quit and would return the truck and trailer I had in my possession to the yard they chose, that I was done working for them, didn't wasnt another paycheck from them and was not expecting them to pay me for returning their truck. Also I never sent load conf on the qc. I asked them how I was supposed th get home after returning the truck and they told me I was on my own to find a ride. I told them ok, they would have their truck and trailer in the morning.Nothing more was said. Cleaned it out and up and returned the truck. This afternoon I get a voicemail saying that they are charging me for the deadhead miles that I drove to return the truck. So how screwed am I, and is there anything I can do to ensure I don't get dropped out of orientation with my next job that I have lined up?

I quit my job with pam due to the fact that i couldn't support my family on 2 or 300 a week, they never got me home on time even when I would get home time approved well in advance, they wanted to run me 6wks out and only give 3 to 4 days home I would gladly run 4 wks out, and I was always broke down had several 0 dollar paychecks with them. And that was also averaging about 2k miles a week, when I wasnt broke down.

Here's some advise. Stay away from the big OTR carriers! Also, stay away from any carrier that advertises in truckstop magazines. It's very simple. If a carrier has to advertise, they can't keep drivers. There are many reasons for this. None of those reasons are good for the driver. You asked.

    Drive safe

I'm bringing this thread back to the front as several new posts lately and today about getting an abandoned truck on a DAC report. The words COVER YOUR ARSE are extremely important to your being able to get a decent job in trucking because idiot companies that slam a DAC because you finally figured out that the MEGA Fleet you signed on with were as incompetent as a certain POTUS or just plain lairs at orientation or the HR person has some misguided God complex as they DO hold your life in their hands and should be tarred and feathered and then duct taped to the center line of the nearest interstate.

Hopefully this advice gets around as should the other one on what to do when you start with a new company.

Soundhound? There is a job thread in TTR here http://www.indeed.com/p/index.php?pid=9819982247023450
