Stay away from a mega and go to a small fleet. They could care less about dac reports and the red tape. They want to see you dressed for the job, able to drive, and be a professional.

you can get up a few letters from known people like a church deacon, reverend, maybe an attorney (if you have one), maybe some store owner or other business persons that know you.

Even small fleets are required to ask for your work history. It's federal law. Doesn't mean they do. But it is required.

eCFR — Code of Federal Regulations

Why would anyone limit themselves to the worst if the worst?

I literaly applied to 22 company schools because im broke as a joke those were the only two that didn't want tax papers in hand to submit in school. I applied to all that ppl suggested for beginers if you say that your self employed you got to show 1099 form. I tried everything to get around the employment verification. sometimes you got to deal with the bs of a company like crst to get your foot in the door. Im in this for the long haul career

Hey @bdg31020: You'll make it out there, they're desperate for people but some of these recruiter folks might as well be robots for their lack of imagination. Just wait until they run out of people who want to work.

Can you study like hell for the written exam to get your Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP)? In AL, it's $61.25 and even if you're already accepted into a program, getting that taken care of shows a kind of initiative that will attract the right recruiter and give you a leg up on folks in class--might even get you more drive time practice.

I wish you the best of luck. Think I would have "created" 10 years of work history.
