Not sure if this has been asked yet, but what part of the country is your home base? I don't see any ads for tankers out of Fontana, CA, is that not a tanker center?

I wish. Not really a home base. Houston, New Orleans, Gary and Pittsburgh are all major freight areas for us and just about every other tanker outfit.

This is a great thread with lots of great info. With any luck, I'll be driving with SNI Tanker soon. If I make it, I would hope I have a trainer with the exact same mindset as you have.

I have read every post on this thread and gotta say...Ethos you are the shizit!1 Thanks for all the valuable info. I also have a question..imagine that..lol.. I have six months experience as a Auto Hauler. I was a owner/operator in 2012. I have been off the road for about 8 months. I am going to Dallas for orientation/training for Schneiders Tank Division. Woohoo!.. My million dollar question is... I am not,in any way,a team driver. I cant sleep in a moving truck. I have stressed this to the recruiter and she has assured me that during my training i will be doing ALL the driving and after i am out of hours the truck will be parked. Truth?

    100% truth. No teaming allowed.

Probably nothing older than an 09. It will be an orange Freightliner. No apu's but you can idle. No inverters and yes you can have satellite radio. Actually you can have any inverter that plugs into a cig lighter but nothing bigger.

Ethos, I am sure your brain has been picked by many lucky rookies. I will be attending school in a few months to get my "A". I have a "B" with X endorsement but not much good that will do me at Schneider Bulk. LOL.
    A couple questions...
What kind of areas are you backing into to offload? Are they factories or bulk tanks in a cornfield or what?
What cities or areas would a mid west regional bulk run consist of?
I have read on another forum that Schneider tankers are in bad shape and many of them are in need of major repairs. Is there any truth to that?
Thanks , Be safe out there.
