You pretty much have to look like you just had a hard days work, lol. One time I went for an interview for a driving job,I looked like I just woke up.A bad hair day holey jeans.I really didn't put too much effort into getting ready that morning, lol.A few days later company called asked when I can start but I had already found another job.

I was a little worried at first because the HR person I was talking to was in a shirt and tie, but everything went great. Just don't look like a slob.

Bring your gloves. You're going to be outside, so dress appropriately. Clean, yet rugged looking, with your gloves is what they will be looking for.

You know, it's funny how everyone is telling you boots and clean jeans for a job interview, but you see people in wifebeaters and pajama bottoms at shippers. I always meet some guy that tells me he used to heavyhaul. A real heavy hauler always looks as if he's going on a job interview. Why? I've had shippers, people that own fab shops roll through the parking lot of the truckstop, looking for someone to haul their load. They have some big machine or big object that they need hauled 5 to 10 miles. No, I'm not talking about doing anything illegal. But you should always look like you're ready for work, not like you're about to take a shower, or need to take a shower, or going to the beach, or to the club or to beat your wife. Wifebeaters are unacceptable in public for any guy over age 15.

Tell them those are steel toe boots you just bought yesterday. Ask if they have a pet policy.

I would go into the place wearing nice clothes , clean , wrinkle free , clean shaven or trimmed -up , nice shoes , and above all clean hands ....that's the 1st thing I notice on a person....their hands...dirty hands/nasty looking nails = dirty person.....if you can't keep your hands clean , nails trimmed , you just don't care too much about how you look to other folks.
