If you just want to get back into Trucking, you can probably get on with Volume. Then in 6 months when you have had enough you can find a better company. They are cheap and you have to fight Atlanta traffic, and they do have a drop yard in Atlanta and are located about 20 miles east of Atlanta. They do have decent trucks, about the only good thing I can say about them. They do a lot of Ollies deliveries, so you are back to Atlanta every other day. Olllies DC is just north of Atlanta, so you will go there to swap trailers in Commerce.
Averitt Express - One month experience required; an ad I saw yesterday has this requirement. Averitt has a training orientation for drivers in your situation. Website 5887 Fulton Industrial Boulevard Southwest, Atlanta, GA 30336
Yeah I live in a residential subdivision but I do have a vacant lot a 2 miles away from me that trucks park at but I was asking because I want to make sure the company has terminal near home that way I could drive to orientation if they offer one in Atlanta but it’s not a deal breaker
forget about that vacant lot. There was a post just last week of a driver getting his truck towed out of an old shopping plaza that has been shut down for years & “trucks always park at”. if you can’t park at home, have a terminal near home to park the truck at!!
Ya I left my trailer at a place trucks always parked at because my truck broke down. The guy in the nearest house came out yelling at me. After I explained the situation he was totally fine with it. At least find someone to ask. Slipping them a little cash every month helps too.
