When my truck was totaled, a insurance agent showed up to assess the damage. Once he decided it was totaled due to frame damage he went into the interior to see what else if any damaged. (Potential auction salvage sale which would have caused a sensation with that engine and manual trans... (5.9 hemi and hurst 5 speed) He ended up cleaning the entire interior down. Stood there with 7 rounds in his hand and a question. Oh Im a licensed carry and occasionally keep sharp in training. It was obvious to me that it was not a usual item to deal with for him. Poor thing. Once all was out of it they offered me a buy out exceeding what we paid for it or a new frame free plus whatever else is necessary once the entire cab and bed etc was taken off the old frame along with everything else. I should have taken the frame option. However I was old fashioned and was not up on the idea you can replace frames just like you replace worn out parts these days. And so let a opportunity slip through.
My insurance is a state thing, I have to have additional insurance for items that are not factory so if a truck is wrecked, it is stripped of the radios, lights and other tools and is left just like it was a bone stock truck.
