Prisoners have more space and more time away from each other.

I am in week 5 of training. Which is just about the same as teaming. I am fortunate my trainer has 15 years experience, he is a very good driver. But when my training is over I would not team. Truck is to small personality conflicts and mostly for me anyway, you just cannot get good enough sleep while the truck is moving. Some of these roads really suck!!! and that leads to fatiuged driving and that is very dangerous. The driver who has to drive at night, and when the sun comes up, is most vulnerable. It is very difficult to stay alert and in some cases awake during these hours. The money just is not woth it. Again to me anyway, "it's a safety thing":biggrin_25514:.

This sums up team as far as I'm concerned. I've tried it a couple of times but nope, I prefer being alone out there.

If they put two prisoners that close for that long it would be considered "cruel and unusual punishment" and would probly wind up with someone dead.

I don't know of anyone I'd want to be that close to 24/7.

Anyone is going to get on a persons nerves after so long, I always hated the thrown together teams where your co driver wants to talk when he should be in the bunk asleep.

With a spouse, maybe, but otherwise i don't want to share the space. I also have problems sleeping when truck is moving, roads are to rough about 90% of the time.

My husband is still waiting for a call from the Gov. :biggrin_2556: That's why I got him into trucking. They can't find him now. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

My GF and I are looking at driving together. Would we get more pay coming into this as a team? Could we start out at 40k each starting out? ( I heard the average start is 35k single)

This is assuming my GF and I are driving long distances non-stop. Away from home 95% of the time.
