The company you're driving for knows darn well what the rate is when they accept the haul. If they're pretending they don't, they're lying.

Can't tell me what the load pays me ? Fine, keep the load.

No way I would touch a load, if they won't tell me what it pays. That's downright dirty!

yeah i would not haul anything without getting a rate upfront.

i just got a call a few days ago about some loads that "pays a very good rate" i asked "well what is a very good rate cause your idea of a very good rate and mine might be different" they said they would find out and get back to me, they never got back to me so i guess it wasn't a very good rate.

There are creative ways to find out what loads pay. What you need: Phone, pleasant voice, and a fax machine. What to do: Call company that is offering the load, ask for someone in billing... You will probably get a nice lady that talks to almost nobody ever... Then state that you are in Operations for the company you are leased to(you are... an owner op after all. The ask if they have a minute could you fax last weeks itemized billing for said company, as you seem to have misplaced it... and it could have even ended up in the shred pile(they understand this horror). Give her the fax number... thank her up and down... 9 out of 10 times in a couple of minutes you will get all the pricing info faxed right to you.

Interesting, I pull for LTC and about three years ago they started this crap of not telling us what the load pays. I've worked for two different agents and same story from both. Any time I'm at another terminal they say they can't see the rates. Uncle Ronnie has that blocked out. Not saying you don't know, just sayin my experience. None of my crew have been able to get any rates from anyone either.
I've been running a dedicated the last year, ran one "system load" 4 weeks ago for Midland and got torched. No more for me.
Before the "just haul it n see" stuff there was a lot of $3-$4 a mile loads. Since that crap it's all a dollar eighty to two fifty a mile.
Bill it as Dana, broker it to LTC, Suttles and so on.
I had enough. LTC was a real good company until Dana got ahold of it.
Bought a Benson yesterday, back to the dirty-shirt club.... I got a couple left in the closet from years ago. hope they fit..
