Well if you live in Austin TX, you only have to contend with one rack and that is Flinthills Resources. They won't allow anymore racks to be built here.
But FHR are very strict on rules. If you scully or spill, it's a automatic 3day suspension, for first offence. The next one will be a week. It's not easy, this fuel hauling gig

No problem. When you enter one of the bays in the rack of choice, you first connect the scully cord to the trailer, all gas trailers have a plugin socket. together with the vapor recovery system connected. This is a fail safe system to make sure you don't overfill your trailer. Every rack has this system. So when we describe that you have scullied or scullied out, you have plugged in too many gallons for that particular compartment to handle and when the product reaches the sensor at the top of that chosen compartment, it will trigger the scully box warning system and shut down all arms that you have running. As we say in the business, you don't have a "green Light" anymore. You are stuck. Then you have to go to the terminal office and tell them you have "scullied" They will know and will print you up a bill but it will be regarded as a short load.
In most cases, this is grounds for you to be locked out for a few days. It's a common fault, happens quite often, so it's part and parcel of the business. You've got to make sure you plug in the correct gallons that the compartment will handle.
You will be trained on this topic many times by the company and the rack too. Good luck

U guys have strict loading racks if they ban u for scullying out. Around here u can fill some 5 gallon buckets and dump the product down the drain til I get your green light back. Obviously it's not ideal being your wasting the customers gas, but I've seen drivers do it. I've only hit my scully once and it wasn't completely my fault, first time pulling a trailer and I hit the scully on a 4k compartment at like 3950 gallons. It was my last compartment thankfully so it didn't matter

Yes, racks around the Austin/SA area are pretty strict about scullying. Flinthills Resources are about as strict as it gets and I've seen guys get locked out for as long as 30days. With that their gas driving days are over with that particular company. But guys that get that kind of punishment have usually done something really stupid and dangerous to warrant such down time. I've also heard that there are racks out there that have the capability to ban you for life if your are a repeat offender of rule breaking. I'm not carded in at the Exxon in San Antonio, but if they catch you just getting out of your truck the wrong way, in their bay, it's grounds for a lock out. So be glad that the racks you frequent are a little more lenient with you.....Good luck

Started with Gemini in January, and carded so far at:
    Suncor, Commerce City CO
    Magellan, Aurora CO
Rocky Mountain, Dupont CO and Cheyenne WY
    Holly Frontier, Cheyenne WY
    NuStar Terminal, North Platte NE

Was carded at ConocoPhillips in Commerce City, but haven't pulled a load from there since January, so my card is expired. I still need to get carded at Sinclair WY, so I can run back hauls back to Cheyenne.

Haven't hit a probe yet, but have had a probe that was intermittent. Sucked pulling into the rack and hooking up, just to have to pull out again to clean the probe. The racks around here don't allow you to get on top while in the rack. Now when I check tires and hubs I check my lights to make sure I don't have a probe light on before entering the rack.

I have lost scully connection while loading, but I have just been able to reposition the cable to get a good ground, and continue on with loading.
