Somewhat reasonable. You can make decent money, but you have to put in a lot of hours to get it. A lot of your time loading and unloading will be spent on paperwork and trip planning. And the job is not quite that simple. You do need to do a bit of thinking and problem solving. Also it is heavily regulated so you will deal with law enforcement a lot.

Nurses make 75k plus a year for working 3 days a week 12 hours each day, then they have 4 days off a week to have a LIFE. A truck driver works 7 days a week, 70 plus hours a week and it's very hard to have a social life. It's your choice to make.

Well there are a lot of differant local jobs. I deliver paint. I deliver to stores, houses and construction sites within 75 miles of Chicago. Mostly liftgate deliveries. I make about 10 stops a day and push palettes up 2000 lbs. I start at 6am and work 8 to 12 hours a day, usually under 10 hours a day. I make about 50k a year, but I have only been driving for 2 years so far. I am paid hourly so traffic does not bother me. I like being out on my own, seeing differant parts of the city and talking to differant people. But it is physical work.

Now that i'm thinking about it. Honestly, UPS doesn't seem bad at all. Sure they work you, but the pay is good, you get benefits, and apparently people rarely work over 60 hours a week unless their getting voer time, PLUS you don't even need a college degree. If i can get past all the hard work, i think UPS would be my kind of job. It seems to be like trucking but pays more, and ill be in my bed every night. Plus there's ALSO the option of driving feeder trucks which is basically like OTR trucking i believe. So why would i pass up this oppurtinity lol?

Go to nursing school. Enjoy having a life being stuck in a truck is no way to spend your time. Go party experience college then after a few years see where your at.
