As a tanker driver I would generally try to park near ammenities such as showers, laundry, food, and shopping....So for me that's usually a truckstop or a tank wash

Yep made that mistake before. Parked at a Walmart and went home for 6 hours. Got a call from the company asking where I was. Turned out they were repaving the lot and I almost got towed.

    Good times....

At a hotel with truck parking, so I can get my room. The company pays for hotels.

So weird how different people's experiences can be. The majority of jobs I've had I park the truck in the driveway because that's just the kind of outfit it is/was

Usually at the terminal. But, when we have to reset on the road we park the trailers at the yard and the tractor at the hotel.
