You REALLY have to know what you're doing in florida,

that's why most folks get a high enough rate going Into florida......

Then if necessary, they'll deadhead up to georgia.

yea, im based out of florida..
when theres loads that pay 1.80-2+dlls a mile going into mid florida then thats a good one.. cause u can get a cheap load to go to GA and you are safe.. but if you come down to miami god #### ud be stuck..
all my trucks are stuck down here at the momment.. even flatbeds.

    YA and get a 1.20 -1.50 a mile ,,,STILL cheap freight !

You need to get enough into florida to dead head out at least 500 mi out of fl to 2.00 freight,,,,, after my last two loads into florida my rates into florida will be 2.50 a mile for loads at 600 miles and 2.35 for loads over 1200 miles 2.25 over 2400 miles!!! If they say no my truck stays parked,,, period !

Now if someone had of said why didn't you check that out before you bought your reefer that would make sense. Heres a few load boards you may choose to use however with a load board your competing with 1000's of other drivers this is sort of a last resort if your stuck without freight even if their rates are low. Once you get in good with a shipper try dealing direct with them. Trulos, LoadHound, vessage.com, Comfreight, DeliveryBrokers, expediteloads, rightnowloads, usacanadaloadup, nextload.

Wow Florida? Really? That's crap just look at internet truckstop, get loaded, and truckersedge, load boards check load densities and do searches out of popular Reefer areas, for example... Nogales az, Yuma az, salinas ca, Brownsville tx area etc. remember that if a load pays really really good it probley goes to ####ty area unless it's spring/ summer when like strawberrys are running at 2.80-3.22 per mile
To about anywhere. Panhandle Texas and Oklahoma plains and south western Kansas run a lot of beef and cheese, also Sioux Falls SD AND other parts of ND and SD run a lot of beef. West coast like WA OR OR AND ID run onions and apples and Campbell soup out of Salam OR area.
Been doing reefer and flatbed for 20 plus years I know what's hot and what's not. Starting in April onions will be comming out of TX and south NM going to up state NY, Boston market and philliadelphia market but remember reloads out of those areas will be below 2 dollars per mile but you can go up for 2 to 3 amile so the a average round rate will be good

    SoDel and aussiejosh Thank this.
