Wine tasters are like art critics. They may as well be talking a foreign language.

Part of the reason I drink PBR is the image burned into my brain of sitting along my father at the bar back in the days when I was barely knee high to a grasshopper and it was his choice of beer.

I thought the same thing. That would’ve disappointed me.

I did good today... only 470 miles in but I got roughly 650 miles to knock out tomorrow... figured if I can do that I’ll setup Thursday perfectly and might just manage to get this hoopty to my driveway Thursday night.

Not looking forward to paying Florida a few dollars in tolls but I get reimbursed so eh :(

Last week my parents celebrated my father’s 80th birthday at some highfalutin snooty ### country club.

I ordered shrimp and grits. Looked to
be the most innocuous thing on the menu. Grits and gouda cheese with shrimp and ham gravy. Sounds simple, right?

Wrong. This stuff showed up topped with various forms of plant matter which was NOT mentioned in the menu.

I was NOT ####-ing happy.

Mom has traveled the world eating at fine restaurants everywhere. She has had shrimp and grits all over, and says the restaurant about five miles from my house has the best she’s ever ate. They fry the grits in a big fried ball about the size of a softballl. You cut into it with a fork and cheese grits come oozing out with a little onion flavoring and maybe garlic? Everyone loves it that orders it. A redneck cook from Mississippi showing up those trained executive chefs:thumbup:

The muck is gone I guess.

Gonna start a nuclear disaster in my driveway...

Nice, thanks. I was going to start early for the jog through Dallas tomorrow, but I might try this route. I love less construction.

But 19 extra miles might get them worked up. They didn't want to let me take the scenic route at only 100 extra miles. Ugh...

When I hauled liquid tar for asphalt companies, we always finished unloading by sticking the pump off hose in a five gallon bucket of diesel. It breaks down the glue to keep the hose from being too stiff to position. Try some diesel on it next time, might help loosen it up.
