That rate of fire with 7.62 NATO rounds is amazing.

@MACK E-6 my gramps on my mom's side had the grease gun in Korea. The few stories i heard from him he wasn't impressed to say the least. Same goes for the M16 with 20rd my friends dad had during the Tet Offensive

They look ok on a single drive rv hauler if very low profile with lo-pro steers.

I have seen a couple that were class 7 or 8 pulling 40ft rv's that looked good, and made good grocery getters and touring units when parking the rv in the park.

I can believe that. I recall some jam-o-matic horror stories on the early iterations of the M16.

Plus, the NVA and Viet Cong were using the SKS and Norinco type 56, both in the more powerful 7.62x39mm round.

Your pick of any 38 special from S&W, of course I never owned one (definitely want one and know of them) and I’m wheel gun biased

Can you get NFA items in CA, suppressors particularly?

I would personally prefer a suppressed handgun or AR-15. Most people gravitate towards shotguns, but firing a gun in your house will mean you won't be hearing too well for a while.

If that's not available, then subsonic rounds shouldn't wreck your hearing too bad.

As for which gun, what I always suggest is resist the instinct to go for the hand howitzer or the shiny one. What you want is the one that fits comfortably in your hand and you shoot well with it. A nice looking firearm is useless to you if you can't hit the side of a barn with it. I suggested the Czech CZ-75 to @buddyd157 and he loves that.

Try to find a range that has guns for you to rent. That will allow you to sample some different ones to find what's right for you.

    Good luck.
