    I can take the heat very well.. but the cold... it hurts in my bones... freezing cold hurts my ears, my nose, even my eyes...

    Supposedly Meet Up is an actual group activity database. In my area it's kids who 'game' and middle aged hikers lol. Probably book clubs and Bible study too. I'm kinda in your situation because I only lived in my house 6 months before going OTR so going home is just a building, I barely know my neighbors and nobody else. But it's free to keep in touch with my old friends and expensive to go home, take time off, AND leave out with cheap freight so....
    Get a library card and an annual pass to a local museum or zoo. Good for your mind if nothing else.
