    Those are asbestos logs. Fire resistant to get a break on the Homeowners insurance. Antique logs are highly flammable. Did you know that ?
    The old technology was shocking.
    They actually built those things out of wood. They made them from trees somehow, after they cut them down.

    I will get us some when I go get the truck to leave but basically the scissor frame that air bag bolts to is bolted straight to the floor. That was bolted to like a spacer.

    These are the wide ride, I hope they is comfy

    Well I finally got through watching this video. Been meaning to watch it for a while. Most of you have probably seen the 5 minute video of him but this one is two hrs so I'll hit the highlights.

    He bought this model 281 Pete new in 1960 for $15,700. Same year he paid $10,000 for his house in California. He said he was getting $1.50/mile and paying $.13/gallon for fuel. He slept behind the cab with a sleeping bag until he got a bunk. CA had a 45 mph speed limit. AZ made you go into the scale house and get your log book time stamped. His favorite engine ever was a twin turbo KTTA 475 but it was 14k on the steers and cost too much in fuel so he went to a 444 and now has a N14. Biggest change in 60 yrs has been the internet brokerages.

    :56 minute mark he tells the story of when he caught the guy stealing his fuel

    Before the huge military access (ID, twic, miliary ID, first born, pint of blood) went over board. I ran for this Russian broker more than I could count. When I came down to pay,. It was an act of congress to get paid. 90 to 120days for the goooberment to pony up the money. And like @blairandgretchen said below it's not worth it any more. (To much babysitting and to little money)

    The story from trip6 reminded me of the time I switched on the "red" driverside reading lamp, to update my coloring book. When a "good buddy" come knocking on the dang door. Thought it was a DOT cop at first seeing me write in my book. ya. No more "red" light /pickle parks. Some one needs to put out memo on a pisser room mirror. So ya can keep up on the do's and don't. Next these idiots will say taking your hat off as you leave the pisser is a signal.

    Good tune @OLDSKOOLERnWV
    Here ya go. Add to the Ford guys

    I’ve watched it. Still watch it sometimes. He’s a legend for sure, but I don’t think he knows it.

    The story about the guy stealing his fuel in Checotah is something everyone needs to hear.

    Good day in the patch.

    School me on what that breaker does. I’ve heard that word thrown around, just not sure exactly what it is.

    @peterbilt_2005

    The government pays the next day from presenting the signed GBL (that is why when you haul the military stuff they want a scanned copy of GBL as soon as possible) through an electronic settlement program through US Bank. This goes back as far as when Menlo logistics was doing it.

    The issue is alot of the moves are spot bid now and there are a billion non-asset brokers bidding on the loads. Lowest bidder gets the move - then if they can’t cover the next cheapest and so on. This is how you get ######### bidding 118k load at $5/mile.
