9B4A29AC-5D98-41FA-8DEA-31CA4AC3B678.jpeg I’ve had trouble finding oil ever since I bought my truck. It takes 10W-30 synthetic blend and nearly every parts store looks at you crazy when you say that. They think your totally nuts.

I was told they are short on chemicals for additive packages so what they are making they are selling as bulk so those dealers will have stock for oil changes. There is a rapid lube place in Moncton and they said they have lots.

I've always found oil on Amazon to be priced crazy. Looked a hundred times, never ordered.
Can buy it locally for about 1/3 the price.

Sams Club this morning. Rotella 1 gallons were out but they had many cases of (2) 2.5 gallon.

You don't like or use full synthetic?

Thought most had switched to fully synthetic oil long ago.

Serious question, is there a reason for using semi synthetic?

I just post what I find when I’m out and about. I’m a new owner so I’ve only had one oil change so far lol. However, i will be using regular 15/40. Its a 96 Detroit. I don’t need or want anything else.

Many on here still use the regular oil. All depends what engine they have.

My truck is old, and we have older ones, but use synthetic. When on the radio discussing oil with others, they all use synthetic. So just had a question is all. To be truthful, not sure what Cat recommends go in my 2005 C15. But can tell you it lives on a steady diet of Shell T6 5W40.
