Talking about cold weather, I have a friend from Fort Vermilion Alberta. He comes down here occasionally because his brother lives here. He farms in the summer and drives log truck in the winter. They drive across the ice to get to some of their wood. He says they never shut the trucks off when it gets really cold. I asked him if he has any wild stories and he claims it fairly tame actually. I don’t think he knows how tame log hauling is around here.

One thing Americans could learn from them, instead of everyone sitting in their trucks in line waiting to be unloaded they all park and go in the scalehouse to drink coffee until their turn. He’s the only Canadian I know that doesn’t talk like a Canadian. Sounds more American than his brother who lives here. I visited in Manitoba once. Had a great time. People were very friendly there.

Oil update. Sad news. Sams was completely out of 15/40 and two pallets of car oil took there spots. So I went to Tractor Supply and amazingly they had every brand in every size including buckets. Not a lot of every one but enough if in a bind. Maybe they had more in the back.

I couldn't find ANY rotella last week, got 2 buckets of Castrol CRB, 15W40. It is CK4 and approved by Detroit bla bla bla, I'm 1000miles into a trip and I cant wait to get it out. It didnt turn black right away like all oil does in a detroit , and it had a weird smell now from the stink pipe, and more slobber than usual. That said it was REAL cold yesterday, REAL cold. I just dont like it, its gonna go.

Jackpot at WalMart. Sorry if you're in East TN and found the shelves empty again this morning.

    Yes, that's a prius.

Any area that has a lot of Trucking, OOs seems to have a shortage. I’ve got 20 gallons hoarded up. Neighbor has a 55 gal drum. Sure he’d sell me some if needed. A couple yrs back my Uncle who’s retired, offered me a 55 gal drum for $100. Leftover in a storage unit he works part time at. Should have bought it. It was 1000 miles from home. Too much hassle at the time.
