I don't know what it is man. Not that I'm a senior driver but I'm well over half way up the board with 80-90 drivers under me now and yes - I have a few nice things but appreciate my job. Believe it or not, morale at Con-way is pretty good right now but I still cannot figure out these guys you described. They swear this place sucks before they pull out of the lot in their new 60K truck they paid cash for heading home to their 5000 sq ft house they paid off in 8 years..lol..

No doubt on the big ole' payday grin man.

Oldnewbie I agree with jakebrake12, you do ask great questions; some of the same questions that I have had myself; has been a great help for me also, thanks.

As you, this is going to be a future transition/career change for me (Lords Will) and as stated above great questions; keep the questions rolling; knowledge is wealth.

    Thanks again.

    God Bless.

From those I know at UPSF, the contractors are a major point of contention for the next contract negotiation.. No LTL'r wants an O/O pulling freight for .40 more per mile than they make as a company driver.. Just something to think about..

    Contractors are a HUGE issue,...

However if our own otr truckload trucks stay away from our ltl,...Then it is a different story,.....

I know that Heartland Express is hauling FedEx Overnight freight. Everyone thinks their package was on an airplane to get to them so fast. I'm sure they aren't the only ones...:biggrin_25524:

Yup, hauled a load of it the other day.
Load went almost non-stop Atl to PA.
Swap in the middle. It was air freight though. It was in Air containers. So we flew
