It will not go into car mode unless you physically tap the button.

    Give me an Example.

    Thanks,

Each time you tap on screens, it loads that screen into memory. It is suggested that you turn the TND off/on about once every 3 days to clear out the memory.

Going down a road it deems truck restricted it will audibly give you the warning a couple times within about a minute and then a pop up box comes up and says cant find a route and switching to car mode. You hit ok and the icon has changed to the car and there is now no route at all. This has happened to me a couple times.

The TND does not auto switch from Truck to car mode. You will get a red message at the bottom notifying you of a restriction.

What is the serial number off the back of your TND.

    Thanks,

Yes, but the message says something to the effect of, "Illegal or not recommended"

I would rather is make up it's mind...

More than likely that highway has been moved or expanded and the map makers havent caught up their data base yet. I can think of about a dozen places my GPS will do this every time.

Including highway 400 E of Augusta Ks. They rebuilt that highway more than a dozen years ago, and the map makers have yet to bring that data up to current. Every GPS I have ever owned including Google Maps has me off in the middle of a wheat field going down that road. Recalculating recalculating ughhhhh!

Have only used Rand McNally so can't give a comparison but can't imagine using anything else.

It is letting you know you are on a restricted road. Would you rather not it give you a warning and you get a ticket?

    Thanks,
    Mark
