Which is the best starter Company

what you have to understand is for all the negative comments on here about any company they all have drivers who are happy there
i am content at transam for now. A friend of mine is mad every day there. Today he is mad because of the hurricane he is stuck
"Transam should never have sent me to NJ". I dont think Transam sent him there on purpose. Some people are never happy.
Some do not realize they are the problem when they are sitting at a TS out of hours
In 8 months I have never done a reset except where I had planned on it and hardly ever sit waiting on loads except at the meat plants waiting for the cows to die

Here is my review of 1 year at Swift. I am not saying that Swift is the best for a brand new driver. But they have worked out ok for me.

Here is my 2 cents. I have to agree, there are people that are happy with every company and people that are unhappy with every company. I worked for Crete about 3 years ago, had a terrible experience with them, have talked to people since then and they think Crete is the best company ever. When I returned to driving, I went to Werner, as someone with experience, they put me with a trainer for 175 hours, if you have a trainer that wants to run, this will go quick. They pay a little more to trainees with experience. They got me home in a timely manner for National Guard, however while home for Guard, I was offered a position with a company that is willing to pay more and put me in my own truck right away. If I was to go back out with Werner, I would have to go with a trainer for another 70 hours. My last trainer had a bad habit of stopping in his hometown everytime we passed through so I did a lot of sitting at a truck stop waiting for him to come back to work. I do not blame Werner for this, I blame the work ethic of the trainer.

I have heard a great deal of good things about FFE, May, and Trans Am.

I worked at swift for a year out of the Ok. City terminal, It wasn't bad at all...All OTR, and got plenty of miles,,,Pay wasn't all that great, but if you show 'em that you're good at your job, they would just about always let me do pretty much what I wanted, go home when I wanted to. Go the direction I wanted...My biggest problem with them was there CRAPPY trailers...Very bad...always needing work done on 'em. Left them for schneider, been okay here, except my good DBL quit, not quite as good now

 

I was talking to my buddy yesterday that used to work for Swift, He said exactly the same thing.

I am at the FFE academy right now. Been here since Thursday because I already have my permit. I had 4 offers, but FFE sounded the best. So far they have mostly lived up to their word. Recruiter fudged about home time, but that's expected usually. All the drivers I have spoke to at the yard really like them. Money is pretty standard, but the miles are there. Equipment is 2010,11,12 and 13 prostars. The 2010 models are being phased out.

 

where do live.....because the oil industry is crying for drivers and the pay is great

 

Go with FFE.

 

Thanks guys, right now it's between May Trkn and FFE and another thing is maybe I'll wait till after the holidays and do more research till then. But I might just jump on it I'm ready to get things going but I want to make a good choice you know. But keep the comments coming I need more advice from you Road Bros.
