I thought the reyco suspension rode like a velvet pillow ?
But then again the truck before that was a 1974 white road commander with a henrickson suspension....
And the truck before that was a 1972 F model Mack with a camel jump suspension.....

 

Well, sometimes they rode ok. I think most of the "shaking" came from the steer axle, and most of these were pretty short wb. Pumpkin trucks all had 290 Cummins and 10 speeds on Reyco and tubeless spokes on the back. I had a friend that bought an old Schneider truck, had a jillion miles, but still hauled the mail. Lot of guys lived in these things, as they went coast to coast with toilet paper from Green Bay.

I began my Trucking career in 1984 in a 1971 International trans star Loved it.

 

The Transtar 4070 was probably the most common truck in the 70's, before length laws were abolished and cabovers fell out of favor. I've posted this before, but this was filmed in 1975, I believe, right when I started. Look at all the Transtars! ( and I'm aware of the blooper, @.44 seconds, it's not a Pete, it's a Freightshaker)

 

This is a classic movie one of my favorites.I remember when it played at the local drive in.

 

I had to recite the 1st 2 verses of that song to get my chauffeurs license,, it literally, didn't take much more than that. Times sure have changed.
