I’ll be working with Yellow. Looking forward to it. The extra board at LTL companies can be annoying from what I’ve read but could be a blessing also-going places that are new and not sticking with the same routine. No one has to take a bid run once you get seniority, some people do extra board all the time years in.

You're happy and it's a blessing until you're unhappy and it sucks. Routine can be a great thing after some time on the extra board.

I'm all for routine. Surprises or even adventure is not what I want in a job. I like knowing exactly where I am going, exactly what to do when I get there and more importantly, where I am parking for the night/what time I am going home.

Very true. I’m one of those weirdos that gets bored quite easily but that has been changing as I get older lol.

I'm on the opposite end I like coming home everyday even if it means some 14-16hr days and then right back out. Usually it's more like 10-11hr days. I don't hump the freight but most days I'm usually bumping 2 docks. Sometimes 3 docks in a day when it all clicks. I don't do time wasters, most places I'm in and out in a hour or so

Everyone's different but I'd go crazy even just having to spend 1 week in the truck let alone 4-6 weeks.

And not everyone that would like to do LTL/local is in a good area to do it like living out in the sticks away from a decent size city

Who said that? LTL is the fastest growing area of trucking. Most companies are partnering up and doing shorter runs, do a Google search on the matter.

So do I. The majority of LTL companies are not union.
