If your only skill is holding your urine for your entire 11 hour driving shift then take a good look in the mirror at the reason you aren't farther ahead in life than you are. Develop some skills that set you apart from the rest of the drivers.

Actually Jonesboro AR is offering Concrete mixer at 14/Hr plus time and half over time automatically over 40 hours. Twice what I made 12 years ago. It's not poverty when you consider a couple acres of land, a thousand square foot home running off 30 dollars worth of electric, 40 in gas, about the same in water and payment for house is 330 and insurance another 270 full coverage What's left? Oh Food, fluids and gasoline for the cars insurance for me married and two cars was 55 a month. Full coverage. Our income combined was 3000 basic the hourly wages were gravy. Between the two of us we raked it in paying off debt. We retired approximately 145,000 in total debt over 18 years here in Arkansas, stone cold cash years if not decades ahead of payoff date and year.

That all depends on the company you work for. I run regional Northeastern or Bison Transport. Go out Sunday around noon and back in on Friday afternoon. Average around $80,000 a year for last 5 years. Running E-logs for last 5 years.

You are right. I am completely ignorant when it comes to the cost of living in States like that.

Last guy I trained for Prime quit just after his training was done because he was offered a job pulling an end dump , bringing home 900 to 1100 a week home everynight and off on the weekends he had less then 3 months experience when he landed that gig

He'll work 90 hours a week to get that money.

My kids are grown , I'm not married and have my own truck
This biz is all about what you want to do man ! ...sometimes I want to be home weekly and others I want to hit the road for 6 weeks .
With things bein slow now i prefer to stay out and take my time taking advantage of good rates or camping out doin some haggleing .
