Weed is a fairly harmless drug that a lot of people smoke. It's easy enough to quit. Waiting 30 days for a ueine test isn't too bad, but 6 months for a hair test? That's probably why so many questions about that.

that fact at the end bugs the heck out of me. im very much a family man a wife of 13 years and two great boys. i have a 6 year old mathew and a 4 month old noah, which is mainly why i have chosen a local trucking gig, hauling milk.... i want to be with my wife and my boys.

the fact they have to live in this sick disgusting society bugs the heck out of me. i am currently training a driver at work to do milk pickup.... his marriage to his wife ended after she became a heroin junky. he has 3 kids that he has raised without her help. she's such a junky the only time she has anything to do with them is call and ask them what they are buying HER for christmass. very sad. thank god they had a dad that was a much better father then their junky mother.

marijuana is irrelevant and should be legal and treat at least the same if not less strict then alcohol. alcohol causes dependency, death, martial and domestic problems, violence...... yet our society gives it a free pass. marijuana causes the bag of munchies and the pizza pie to die and sleep. does not make any sense. should we drive intoxicated on any substance, heck no.... which is the lesser of two evils?? i have always kept alcohol out of my life aside from a very rare drink..... i have no USE to be drunk, and driving drunk should be treated with the harshest of penalties..... i dont want drunks on the road with my wife and kids. my wife lost her father to a drunk driver when she was 8 years old, she has not patience for it and neither do i.

what's really messed up is some of the stories i hear, apparently one our drivers hit and dragged a cow almost 2 miles.... that's right he was driving a class A tanker truck drunk. the boss paid his way out. he had been driving for the company i work for, for close to 10 years. driving a tractor trailer drunk? stupid. apparently this was 4-5 years ago.

what really scares me one word HEROIN. to think that substance so common place that i truly have to worry about my kids and heroin is truly sickening

Wow, all the potheads show up strong to defend it!!!!

Alcohol is no better, no worse... It is up the individual. I can consume an entire bottle of Kentucky finest in a day, but I know to be responsible and do it at my house, not out on the road, nor do I put myself in a position to where I have to get behind the wheel.

Just because there are many irresponsible people out there doesn't make alcohol any worse. How about we blame the person not the product!

compare the two substances honestly and alcohol is the worse of the two evils, sorry it's the truth. i would not categorize myself as a pothead as i have not smoked since before getting my CDL, in fact i put my license above and beyond any substance which is more then i can say for allot of the people i know..... including several CDL drivers at work, allot of them are drunks.... it also get's their license in jeopardy. i am an observer at this point and someone who in their past has consumed marijuana and i have been drunk once. let me say that kissing the toilet is not an experience i soon forgot and i learn quick..... no thanks.

my entire town is made of up drunks, the guy down the street who has had several DWI's and the last DWI they took this license for a period of time and took his brand new (at the time) chevy cruze. he got his license back (should be bared from ever getting a license ever again) and earned a breathalyzer in his pickup truck. he went through detox and everything else, guess what a year after he got off.... he is boozing and driving again.

this stereotype should stop..... consume occasional small amounts of cannabis and you are labeled a pothead, drink to excess a couple of times a week and somehow that's OK????? makes no sense. someone who occasionally recreationally consumes a reasonable amount of cannabis does not a pothead make..... no more then someone who has an occasional beer or glass of whine make an alcoholic...... stupid, nonsense, reefer madness stereotype.

anyone who has never watched reefer madness look it up on youtube, its an eye opening, yellow journalist piece of trash from the 1920's that the war against cannabis is based upon. its pure trash.

i guess im a pothead as i have not smoked weed in 3+ years....... illogical

I read a article within our THV 11 in Arkansas that our Medical Board in the State Level claims Pain Medicine prescribing (Over prescribing is the buzz word...) is number two in the state.

As such they intend to implement a law saying that anyone with a acute pain (Think busted bones etc) will only be given 5 days pain medicine script and then cut off.

Any regular physician will not be able to prescribe pain medicine without consultation with a Pain Clinic. (That means referral etc) And the kicker.

Adopting the new CDC guidelines that 50 milligrams morphine equivalent daily is the maximum. Now Morphine is a gold standard for pain medicine.

If I took 10 mg /325 apap four times a day that's 40 mg daily, but expressed in MME in the previous sentance, you are looking at about 80 to 100 MME daily. That means the pain doctor will cut that medicine in half to 20 Mg a day 5mg/325 apap 4x a day. For people used to taking it for years at the maximum 120 pills every 30 days at 10mg each 4x daily, they will be into withdrawals for two to three weeks as the pain levels increase for months if not permanently.

Finally but not last. There will be a push to attach any doctor in the state prescribing more than 90 mg MME daily to account for his or her prescribing to any patient. And forced to prove the medical need for this amount of medicine. Or... the license of that doctor will be taken away and destroyed and the patient cut off cold. This is the problem that is scaring some doctors who are involved in this business because you can never really know if someone is really hurting or not without clear medical proof.

Letters from patients have begun to pour in from around the state to the relevant directors responsible for setting policy at the state level. Pharmacists are also very concerned. Should they dispense the greater than limits in MME for pain medicine they stand to also lose their licenses and ability to earn a livelihood.

There is one thing the article did not cover specifically and that is Hospice Patients who are sometimes prescribed hundreds of MME over a period of a few months because Cancer is killing them and they are not expected to survive Hospice. It's the final pallative coverage. If those doctors operating at those levels feel that they are threatened by the new proposed policy to be implemented Nationally, and more particular in Arkansas there will be a large reduction across the board both in Patients ability to not suffer and also sources in terms of doctors still able to prescribe.

Never mind the actions that will be taken by desperate patients seeking relief. The State has been banning natural sources of medicine that comes from the earth in plant or mineral form recently. Partly because the commerce online and spending has spiked vertically in addition to inflow from overseas drugs with no scripts. I have a friend who has literally gone medevial and is attempting a particular McCormick Spice which is extremely expensive relatively speaking against all the other spices on the store shelf when mixed with hot water in powdered form through a grinder provides pain relief.

I have to wonder how long before the State bans that too.

The ignorance on this topic displayed by so many in this group just amazes me. Cannabis is not heroin. Stop acting like it is. And stop acting like anyone who has a drug question or drug history automatically wants to drive while as ###### up as possible. The fact is, cannabis is legal in a lot of states, a lot of people use it responsibly recreationally or medically. So te confusion is probably largely due to the state legalizations.

Truthfully, the way we test for thc needs to change. If I smoked a joint last weekend while home, in what way does that possibly affect my driving 12 hours after? 24 hrs? A week? Yet I can get hammered every weekend and catch a buzz every night and still drive every day. So the common sense part probably confuses some who aren’t familiar with drug testing and the trucking industry.

Maybe a solution to the drug question would be to make a section for it that stays at the top of the forum home page. That way people see that before they get to other sections.

Lastly, you are not God because you have never done recreational drugs, get off your high horse and help those who are seeking it.

Good lord, according to a lot of guys on here I’m probably a filthy hippy whose opinion is null because I’ve done drugs in the past, and smoked a lot of cannabis. Even grew it, legally. No more though, and that decision was made before my cdl was even a thought.

Little eye opener. Quit caffeine, then tell me you never did drugs.
