A lot of blue collar jobs are high risk, long hours and unhealthy. Trucking is only low paying if you let it be, around here we tell people the mega’s are starter jobs for a reason.

After your year at a mega, you move in the direction you want to go, with a better company that helps you grow your career. It doesn’t take very long to be making six figures and working a schedule you want to work while running lanes you want to run.

Besides all that there’s the pride in your ride factor. Run equipment and your piece looks just like everybody else's. Trucks get individualized from the factory, then you can customize them. A Hyundai excavator is a Hyundai excavator, My Peterbilt looks nothing like the next guys Peterbilt.

Because i dislike most people and prefer to be alone. That and the number of jobs where i have minimal face to face contact and make lots of money are few and far between.

If that's what you think trucking is then you should not do it. Reading my rule book I don't see anywhere that states I need to justify my choice to someone else. Does your rule book say otherwise?

That was one of my reasons too, but... I'm contemplating and planning on trying to go back to where I was trying to get to if that make sense lol.

Hhmmmm, low pay, long hours and unhealthy.

You probably need to find better employment.

You need to come see me doing flatbed deliveries on rainy days when I’m tarping 7 times a day. I can guarantee it’s a straight up workout. As far as pay I’ve never found better money doing anything else. High risk, well maybe so. Long hours ya sure but that’s how you make a decent living.

Its strictly for the money. I need it and where I live it all jobs are $15/ hr or less. I see sights I may not otherwise have seen, but it's just window shopping. Can't stop. And like mayo in an officer and a gentleman, "I've got no where else to go!"
