Since this wasn't posted in the other thread you said that in,

There is no federal rule or law regarding firearms in trucks.

It is completely a matter of state law, CCW reciprocity and company policy.

Mr. Hut, please locate and cite the law you are referring to. If you can't locate it, it doesn't exist and repeating something you "heard" is nothing more than gossip. There is an entire thread dedicated to the subject if you take the time to read it. Please substantiate your claim or pipe down.

might want to a bit more concerned with that fertilizer you are hauling
A--with poor farm economy's--that stuff is like gold
B---that load of fertilizer and the 300 gallons of fuel in your tank ,make for the start of a pretty big boom--i never hauled a lot of fertilizer, but the ones i did--it was daylight crossings only at the border just for that reason

I never worried, I mean who is gonna hijack a 2006 Freightliner Columbia with one fuel tank and all steel wheels and a 1999 double drop? The most expensive things on it are the l.e.d. strobes on the back of the trailer.

Do ALL companies allow you to carry personal protection? I have been considering getting my CCL and having a gun with me in general, but many people have suggested that to me as a trucker as well. Is this something I would have to take up with individual companies?

Most companies have policies against carrying a firearm. I own my truck and trailer so I don't have to worry about company policy. I would check your company's policy before making the decision to carry.

To which lie are you referring? Although the "pipe down" comment may have been a little over the top, her information is correct.

Swift says nothing of the sort. At orientation, it is made clear it is against company policy. Nothing was said at my orientation claiming federal rule or law backing.
