Does the Broker blacklist you or make a note (hard to deal with, nonsense)? You have to stand up for your time, I respect that, broker properly doesn't, but can you call & request more payment for the time lost waiting (ultimatum) before just flipping them? Curious if this approach has had a negative effect is all - Personally, I agree with you standing by your time is money principle:protest:

I have not had any negative effects yet.
    Check this out...

Friday I arrived at shipper. Wrong pick up number. Called 7 different phone numbers talked to 2 different people.
Long story short. I left after 2 hours.

Now If I don't get a TONU in 30 days I'm sending a demand letter to AP that I will sue for $1000 in civil court.

That's disrespectful to you & your time/money - can you attempt for more or $1k was what the pickup load was for? If possible, I'd go after more + Punitive Damages (if doable)...Why can't people in this world just be straightforward, legit, honest - it would such a better world if you can just stand your #### words & respect other peoples time - keep it honest & respectful at all times - is that hard to ask for?

I have been forced into this kind of situation more than once. In fact, the last time was a tire plant In Oklahoma if my memory is right. They were very hostile and it was a battle for me to not return it. What I did was go OVER my bosses head and got somebody at the roadside assistance desk to help me get that POS into a trailer repair facility. This is the ugly underbelly of no-touch freight and drop & Hook. these trailers get beat up and in some cases there is so much junk left over it becomes a serious problem. However, I will say this. I would have a camera on and recording when ANY business refuses to let me leave. To do so is a FELONY and can get someone locked up. You can't hold people against their will, not even a lowly truck driver!

In my case in almost every situation, I missed a pickup appointment because I got tied down to fixing a problem. I remember once going into a plant to pick up poultry. I got flagged down and told to back my trailer in a door. I had to wait because they moved a load from one trailer with a bad reefer into mine. Then told to get that bad trailer off their property. Most of the time my company tossed a few bucks my way. However how I really got compensated was when the freight was slack and I got first dibs on a load over another driver.
