I feel less safe in a Costco shopping, than I ever have from any of the hitchhikers I gave rides.

My company policy is first offense you get a severe warning and a week suspension without pay, second time they fire you. Their wording is “we will find out” my question is (even though I’ve never picked anyone up and wouldn’t) HOW? How are you going to “find out” without spying? That you claim you’d never do? Lol

    dwells40 and Pamela1990 Thank this.

So when you want that sunny week in July off, the one they wouldn't authorize. You pick up a hitchhiker, take about a dozen photos of them, and email to your boss.
    #### they would regret making me that ultimatum. ;)

I would be smiling on my way out the door, and trying to decide if the week off was going to be spent at the lake, or riding my Indian.

If I told them to make that week, a month instead, wonder if they would make it a month.
    Worth a shot.

I mean I can see why they have that policy, liability. With everybody so Sue happy these days, you let somebody ride on your truck and they can claim they twisted their ankle or broke their back or God knows what else. And of course they’re going to sue the company for it. My company will let us have passengers but they have to go through a screening. Etc. Can only be family etc.

Picking up a hitchhiker or random person these days it’s like playing Russian roulette. You never know who or what you’re going to get.

More like box of chocolates, in all likelihood (99.99% of the time) is just gonna be fine. But 100% the person is gonna be interesting even if its not your cup o tea
