I'll have to have my guys do that, especially since my cell phone number is a Kentucky area code and not Minnesota.

You need the secret code word. Lol. I’ve told a Broker when their Customer tried to solicit Me, at least 3-4 times. I’ve also had Brokers inquire about my previous Loads. My answer is, “ Would you want Me to give out your Load info?” I’ve also had Brokers that won’t give Me Loads out of my area. Because of all the bad actors stealing their Customers. Needless to say, no amount of references could change their mind. The two Direct Customers that I could potentially get, I don’t want. Rather have my Freedom, and keep my distance. Less BS for Me to deal with the better.

Update: CH Robinson didn’t care and we still haul some freight for them.

landed 3 different shippers myself and after being told by brokers that “people who ask for higher than $3 right now are people with no loads”

My new customers gave me a $5 rate + FSC

Reading more into brokers and how much they rip into margins and loads, y’all fully deserve to have every customer back solicited from you especially those of you who double broker.

the only reason you have a job is because drivers are too lazy not because you are actually needed.

    thanks for the Ted talk.

That is the best I have heard in awhile. Wish you would record some of the calls and post them. Ha Ha

Even better when you're there in person and they think you're just another driver. You tell them you are getting the same $'s that you are paying them. They will always tell you how you're getting ripped off, they are getting far more. Let them brag a bit and then tell them who you are.

Exactly, people can be so full of ####. I like when they start talking about how they know the owner of the company I drive for…, blah blah blah good, bad, indifferent blah blah. I just don’t say anything and when they go to leave and want to shake hands and finally introduce then they realize who they’re talking to and that I’m fully aware just how full of it they are. lol

Good job. These brokers can kick rocks.
Now try to save up as much in this bad economy.
