Nobody get use to harsh winters!
The team was right 6.50 for a gallon of milk.
As today gas is 4.42 per gallon.

    Cost of living is high!

The OP asked "What are your views on dispatchers"? I guess that would depend on if I was driving that day or,,,,,,, dispatching!

Another reason I don't like dispatchers, remember the truck and the driver fell asleep and ran over 6 bikers. Well I was having my truck worked on (a must) so I was on breakdown pay in the break room while the shop worked on it for 6 hours My dispatcher wanted me to log sleeper birth and drive when they were done. 2-3 hours sleep I think not and quoted the case.

That's pretty common, actually. Anytime not spent driving must be logged in the sleeper, except the bare minimums for loading/unloading, drop/hook, pre-/post-trip, and fuel. At least according to dispatchers. They need you, the driver, to maximize your drive time so they can maximize their pay/bonus for moving freight.

One of the many reasons I jumped over to flatbed and found the perfect (for me) carrier. I don't get pushed to violate HOS (including "adjusting" the log to max out my time) and dispatch understands it takes as long as it takes for me to do my job safely. I wouldn't tolerate a dispatcher telling me how to run my logbook any longer.

I'm lucky my dispatcher doesn't know hos. I've been teaching him though. I tell him what I can do and he works around it
